Yooka-Laylee does a great job of reminding me why I do not dust off my Nintendo 64 when I have to scratch that itch for platformers.
Yooka-Laylee is a story that follows an iguana named Yooka and a bat named Laylee (Pictured above). You play as these unlikely heroes while they try to recover the pages of a book. Excuse me, a magic book. Which they had planned on making some money off of before it gets grabbed, along with all the other books in the world. This stealing of books is part of a diabolical plan from the mind of Capital B and Professor Quack (A bumble bee and duck respectively. Pictured below). Anyway, Yooka and Laylee must collect these pages (named Pagies, that also talk to you) by platforming their way into new worlds as well as completing puzzles and challenges along the way. Warning, continuing to read this post may spoil minor plot points as well as other character name reveals.
